At the opening ceremony themed “Hanoi – Aodai quintessence”, many heroic songs, dances and performances will re-enact a part of the 70-year history of the capital city as well as the heroic and brave city which is on its way to renovate, develop and integrate.

One of the highlights of the festival is the ao dai carnival jointly implemented by the Women's Union Ha Noi and the Department of Tourism on October 5 to spread the love of Aodai to locals, international friends, and visitors. The carnival will take place in 579 communes, wards and towns in the city.

The festival will also feature a variety of cultural activities, including Dem Hoi Ao Dai (Ao Dai Festival Night) program (8:00 PM, October 5 at Doan Mon square), the finale of the ao dai design contest (3:00 AM, October 6 at Doano Mon square), an exhibition of ao dai and accessories, a photo exhibition and spaces celebrating arts, handicrafts (from October 4 to October 6), ao dai city bus tour (October 4 morning and October 10 morning), etc.
