Don Dat Do victory site (Hoa My battlefield) - a province-level historical relic

Occurred on March 29, 1947, Don Dat Do battle was an important historical event in the resistance against France of the Party Committee and people of Thua Thien Hue province.

This victory proved the growth of armed forces, removed opponent’s control, expanded Hoa My battlefield as well as creatively applied the strategies of the Party, bravery of soldiers and people in Thua Thien Hue province.

Together with Ho Thanh victory (March 24, 1947), Don Dat Do victory showed the leadership of the Party Committee in the resistance against France at the time.

In addition to relics located at Hoa My battlefield and relevant relics, Don Dat Do relic is the place where generations can learn about patriotic and revolutionary tradition.

Marking the 50th anniversary of Hoa My battlefield (July, 1947 - July, 1997), a stelae which is 2m tall and 20cm wide was erected in front of Don Dat Do victory site.

Don Dat Do victory site was recognized as a province-level relic by the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on Decision No. 2371/QD-UBND dated October 13, 2006.
