The establishment of the place where banknotes with Uncle Ho’s image was printed contributes to affirming the national economic and financial sovereignty, provides an effective means so that revolution government could call for the participation of countrymen while dealing with obstacles to protect national sovereignty.
Although the place where banknotes with Uncle Ho’s image was printed only existed for a short time, it marks an important event in national politics, economy and society at the time. Also, it encourages the determination to defeat French colonialism’s unjust war.
It was the place where a number of documents were printed such as “Tai lieu Duy vat bien chung - Duy vat lich su” (Dialectical materialism - Dialectical Materialism), “Cac Mac va chu nghia Mac” (Marx and Marxism), contributing to raising the awareness of officers and countrymen of policy and guideline of the Party and State after the success of the August revolution.
Along with the system of relics constructed under the Nguyen dynasty, this place makes contribution to diversifying cultural and historical relics available in Thua Thien Hue province.
Ngo Tu Ha printing house (Huynh Thuc Khang, Hue city today), coin making place at Van Thanh (Huong Ho ward, Hue city) and the paper money printing place at Phong Son commune is forever the pride of Thua Thien Hue locals in the fight on currency to accelerate social and economic growth, making contribution to the national success in the long-tem revolution.
Formerly, the printing place of banknotes with Uncle Ho’s image consists of two rows of house which have already available before, one three-compartment house where locates equipment, office, storage and dining room; banknote making workshop. Over time and war, these artifacts can not be found. In 2010, Thua Thien Hue History and Revolution Museum (today known as History Museum) erected a stele to mark this place to conserve and effectively exploit value of the relic.
The printing place of banknotes with Uncle Ho’s image in 1946 was recognized as a province-level historical relic on Decision No. 156/QD-UBND on 20/01/2010.
