Hoi Mit victory location - a province-level historic revolutionary relic

Hoi Mit is a separated village located in the south west of Lang Co townlet, about 2km to the north of Lang Co station, 8km to the south of Nuoc Ngot station. The village has curved railway, cliff and a large system of lagoon. It is 103km from Hue to Danang. The train goes through tunnels numbered from 7 to 13 and Se tunnel.

Due to risky terrain, train is often driven at a speed of 20km per hour only. During the resistance against foreign invaders, Hoi Mit is considered as a key location, and therefore was frequently disputed. Thanks to moutains and dense trees, it is ideal to locate observation stations. For this reason, locals are well aware of revolutions happened in the area. During the resistance against French colonism, Phu Loc district’s guerillas and soldiers acomplished achievements, contributing to the victory of local revolution.

Hoi Mit victory location marked an important milestone in the resistance against French as it destroyed invader’s plan in Thanh - Nghe - Tinh and Central Laos. In addition, the success showed the patriotism and heroism for a better future.

The relic is associated with the growth of Battalion 319 and Regiment 101 and the accompany of locals in destroying invader’s plans. It also shows the affection of locals to units which struggled for independence and freedom.

The relic contributes to diversifying types of relic in the district, becomes an address for young generations to visit and be educated about patriotic tradition in the district in particular and the entire country in general.

Throughout the history, ancestors showed their bravery and strong determination for national independence. In any cases, they knew how to choose places and effective plan. This tradition has always been effectively strengthened and upheld. Hoi Mit victory is a persuasive evidence.

Hoi Mit victory location was recognized as a province-level historic revolutionary relic on Decision No. 2465/QĐ-UBND dated October 29, 2008.
