Located about 8km away from Hue city, Thanh Toan tile-roofed bridge was a famous structure built in Thanh Thuy village, Thuy Thanh commune, Huong Thuy town.
The bridge is 17m long and 4m wide. It is roofed and divided into 7 compartments. Of all, the central compartment is devoted to worship Ms. Tran Thi Dao, the niece of a mandarin's wife. She spent her own money on building the bridge and was given "Duc Bao Trung Hung Linh Phu" title by Emperor Le Hien Tong in 1925. The bridge's interior is decorated with round and square shapes. It is placed on a system of six rows of piers. There are three stone piers in each row. Thanh Toan tile-roofed bridge follows "Thuong gia, ha kieu" (the house is above, the bridge is beneath) architecture.
Thanh Toan tile-roofed bridge stays in harmony with the general space of Thanh Thuy Chanh village which is home to green paddy fields, village hall, pagodas, shrines, ancestor houses, market, road, garden houses, bridges, giant trees and shrubs of bamboo. Near the bridge locates a gallery where farming tools and farming activities are on display. Handicraft products and local specialties such as bamboo knitting products and banh tet, etc are also introduced.
