(TTH Portal) - On December 12, a year-end meet-up was held by FDI businesses. Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Phan Quy Phuong, leaders of departments and agencies attended the event.
FDI businesses have made considerable contribution to local socio-economic development. In 2024, the estimated revenue is nearly USD 1.600 million, contributing 10% to local GRPD. Nearly VND 4.460 billion is submitted to the State budget, which is a year-on-year increase of 11%. This amount accounts for 35% of province-wide budget. Besides, FDI businesses have a positive influence on other fields such as providing job for local employees.
In the past year, FDI businesses gained considerable results such as opening the association’s office at Vietinbank Thua Thien Hue building, marking an important growth of the club. Additionally, they successfully organized Company Visit, helped members understand more about challenges faced by partners so that practical solutions are found. The forum and networking event themed “Dong hanh cung Doanh nghiep Dau tu Nuoc ngoai trien khai du an tai tinh Thua Thien Hue” (accompanying foreign investment businesses in Thua Thien Hue’s projects) brings businesses a chance to solve obstacles, find measures to effectively carry out projects. Particularly, “Trao tang goc hoc tap - Thap sang uoc mo tre em A Luoi” (presenting studying corner - awaking dreams for children in A Luoi district) is a meaningful program, providing 100 study corners for mountainous children.
In 2025, FDI businesses hoped to make further breakthroughs through practical activities to connect members and make further contribution to the community. Attention will be paid to connect and support FDI businesses; organize dialogue between the government and business to overcome difficulties; accelerate production and business; create convenient investment environment; continue to the second stage of “Thap sang uoc mo” program, give children living in mountainous area opportunities to broaden knowledge and have a better future; encourage member to collaborate, share lessons learned and find solutions to deal with challenges.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong extended thank to FDI businesses for having accompanied Thua Thien Hue in the past time. FDI projects achieved encouraging results. The province issued investment registration certificate for 15 foreign investment projects with the total investment capital of USD 40,7 million (around VND 978,6 billion). Currently, there are 139 foreign direct investment projects with the total registered capital of USD 4,6 billion. Key FDI projects were completed as scheduled such as Phu Son Waste treatment plant, Aeon Mall Hue Commercial Center, Hue Amusement & Beach Park (stage 1). The estimated capital in 2024 is USD 170 (VND 4.100 billion). Till now, the total direct foreign investment capital is USD 1.553 million, accounting for 33,75% of the total registered investment.

In the past time, Thua Thien Hue has always supported FDI businesses during facing difficulties in production, business and investment. In addition, the province focuses on renewing investment promotion and finding solutions to improve investment attraction. In detail, the province concentrated on attracting investment on the basis of selecting and prioritizing advanced technology and high value-added industries; attracting foreign investment in producing and processing exporting products; focusing on on-site investment promotion; kicking off projects issued investment policy decision and investment registration certificate; promoting production; paying special attention to major projects which bring added value, budget and have major influence on local socio-economic development in the coming time; developing high quality human resource, particularly technology, law and finance; enhancing the capacity and moral values of officers in charge of foreign investment in accordance with the new request and obligation, Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong emphasized.
