I. power sources across the province
Component I was mentioned in Thua Thien Hue power development planing in 2016-2025 period. This involves 110kV power system planning which was approved by Industry and Trade Ministry on Decision No. 3945/QD-BCT dated October 16, 2017. Currently, power sources have already been invested as planned across the province.
1. Hydropower plant
Currently, there are 13 hydropower plants (A luoi, Binh Dien, Huong Dien, Ta Trach, A Roang, Thuong Lo, A Lin Thuong, Alin B2, Rao Trang 4, Thuong Nhat, Alin B1, Sung Bo, Rao Trang 3) added into power development planing. Their total capacity was 459,3MW.
2. Solar power plant
a. Ground solar power
Three projects are added into power development planing. They are
- Phong Dien and Phong Dien II project have already generated power with the total capacity of 92MWp.
- Phong Hoa project whose capacity is 50MWp has not been granted investment policy.
b. Rooftop solar power
There are 530 rooftop solar power systems with the total capacity of 61 MWp.
- Systems whose capacity is over >100kWp: 71 systems with the total capacity of 56,3MWp (agricultural farm: 31 systems with the total capacity of 28,8MWp; industrial structures: 34 systems with the total capacity of 26,7MWp; civil structures: 06 systems with the total capacity of 0,8 MWp).
- Systems whose capacity is under >100kWp: 459 rooftop solar power systems at houses and offices with the total capacity of 4,7MWp.
3. Thermo power projects:
There are 02 hydropower plants added into power development planning. Their total capacity was 20MW:
- Power generation by incineration at Phu Son commune, Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province. Its total capacity is 12MW.
- Power generation system which makes use of heat released from Dong Lam Cement Factory. Its capacity is 8MW
4. Source station 220kV
Total number of substations across the province: two 220/110KV substations whose capacity is 500 MVA
- Hue 220 kV substation (Ngu Binh) consists of two 220kV transformers with the total capacity of 125+250MVA and two 110 kV transformers with the total capacity of 40+40MVA.
- Phong Dien substation consists of one 220kV transformer whose capacity is 125 MVA.
