Deng weaving is a traditional craft of Ta oi ethnic group. This unique long-lasting cultural craft has been passed on from generation to generation. Traditionally, natural cotton yarn and colors are used. Unlike other places where patterns on brocades are formed by colorful threads only, beautiful products of Deng weaving are decorated by adding beads directly.

A Rum Deng weaving village is located in A Luoi townlet, A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province. In 1965, it was known as A Rum. As A Luoi district was founded in 1976, the village was renamed A Rum hamlet (Hong Nam commune). When Hong Nam commune became A Luoi townlet, A Rum hamlet was again renamed Group 4, A Luoi townlet, A Luoi district. Local weavers have always tried their best to conserve and develop their traditional craft. At present, A Rum Deng weaving is an irreplaceable part of A Luoi townlet. Its products are not only used by locals on a daily basis, but also been sold, contributing to improving villagers' income. As more interests are taken in this traditional craft, Deng products are widely used in offices, schools and festivals.

With over 50 households joining in Deng weaving, A Rum village produces over 2000 products such as clothes, belt, wallet, pillow, handbag, scarf, etc every year. It is famous for many artisans such as Mai Thi Hop, Ra Pat Thi Nhan, Ho Thi Phuoc, Blup Thi Zot, Le Thi Ly, etc.
