(TTH Portals) – From July 1 to July 2, 2024, a delegation led by the member of Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, Head of the National Assembly delegation of Thua Thien Hue province Le Truong Luu visited and worked with the Party Committee and government of Zhejiang province (China), marking the 25th anniversary of the cooperation agreement signed between the two localities (1999-2024). It was the first activity on the business trip to meet businesses and introduce Thua Thien Hue province in Chinese localities in 2024.
The delegation was accompanied by the standing member of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyen Quang Tuan; Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Quy Phuong, leaders of departments and agencies.
In the evening of July 1, 2024, delegates worked with Mr. Yi Lianhong, the Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress of Zhejiang province and the leaders of relevant departments and agencies of Zhejiang province (China).
In the friendly atmosphere at the meeting, Mr. Yi Lianhong warmly welcomed Mr. Le Truong Luu, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, provincial leaders and delegates from Thua Thien Hue province. The leader of Zhejiang province highly appreciated the purpose of the visit. The Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang province introduced local socio-economic achievements in the past time and emphasized the respect that Zhejiang province had on cooperating with Thua Thien Hue province on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1999. In the time to come, Zhejiang province would connect Zhejiang businesses and those from Thua Thien Hue province, support the province in introducing the image, potentials and advantages of the province; attract investment and help Thua Thien Hue businesses to connect with Zhejiang businesses.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Le Truong Luu extended sincere thanks to the Party Committee, government and agencies of Zhejiang province for the warm welcome. The leader of Thua Thien Hue province also introduced socio-economic achievements that the province achieved; assessed bilateral cooperation, provided information regarding to province’s development in the time to come, highlighted the importance of Resolution 54 of the Politburo on building and developing Thua Thien Hue till 2030 and vision to 2045, creating a foundation to become a centrally managed city in 2024. To achieve these objectives, Secretary Le Truong Luu kindly requested the two sides to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1999 in not only traditional fields such as culture, education, trade, etc, but also other potential sectors like Party building, government and staff training; accelerate cooperation in economy, investment, trade, conservation, heritage management, tourism, health care, etc; consider opening the direct air route from Hue city (Thua Thien Hue province) to Hangzhou city (Zhejiang) in the coming time.

On July 2, 2024 morning, Thua Thien Hue and Zhejiang province jointly cooperated an economic and commercial exchange forum. The member of Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, Head of the National Assembly delegation of Thua Thien Hue province Le Truong Luu; Mr. Ky Quan Dan, the Deputy Head of National Assembly Committee of Zhejiang province; Mr. Nguyen The Tung, the Consul General of Vietnam in Shang Hai city, the representative of leaders of departments, agencies of the two localities, and nearly 70 businesses, groups of China in Zhejiang province and businesses investing in Thua Thien Hue infrastructure.
Within the framework of the forum, Mr. Le Truong Luu was on behalf of Thua Thien Hue province to request Zhejiang province to concern, accelerate and introduce businesses from China in general and Zhejiang province in particular to research, cooperate and invest in Thua Thien Hue province.
Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province introduced to businesses and investors potentials and investment opportunities in Thua Thien Hue province; focused on strengths such as geographical position, transportation, culture, human resource, education, training, health care, infrastructure, policy and investment environment. The leader of Thua Thien Hue province affirmed that local government would support and accompany investors, businesses in administrative procedures; create spacious, transparent, convenient and effective investment environment; be always ready to listen, discuss and help businesses overcome difficulties faced during investing in the province.
The representatives of Thua Thien Hue province’s businesses also provided details about investment environment, the infrastructure of key economic and industrial parks in Thua Thien Hue province.
Meetings taking place at Zhejiang province showed the concern and support of Chinese partners in general and Zhejiang partners in particular to Thua Thien Hue province. These are expected to contribute to introducing the images and potentials of Thua Thien Hue province to China; attract investment and accelerate economic and commercial cooperation. After the meeting on July 2, the delegation continue their business trip in Shanghai on July 3, 2024.
