Conference on searching and gathering martyrs’ remains held in Salavan province, Laos

On May 15th, 2022, a delegation from Thua Thien Hue 515 Steering Committee headed by Colonel Hoang Van Nhan - the Political Commissar of Thua Thien Hue Military Headquarters, the deputy head of 515 steering committee visited and discussed with Salavan's special working team (Laos) about searching, doing survey and gathering martyrs' remains in 2021-2022 dry season. As informed, delegates were on their business trip to receive the remains of martyrs who sacrificed in Lao battlefield.

In a friendly atmosphere, the two parties reviewed advantages, difficulties and the searching for the remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Lao battlefield in the past time and 2021 - 2022 dry season. Colonel Hoang Van Nhan was grateful to the special working team, Salavan province, party committee, the authority of all levels and Lao citizens for the support in searching and gathering martyrs' remains. They made important contributions, helping team 192 search for the remains of martyrs in the past time. Despite difficulties arose, particularly the shortage of information and remote locations, team 192 found and gathered 16 sets of martyrs' remains in 2021 - 2022 dry season thanks to the support of the party committee and people of the two provinces.

To successfully search and gather the remains of martyrs in dry season 2022 - 2023 and coming years, Colonel Hoang Van Nhan hoped that Salavan - Laos special working team will create favorable condition and call for the participation of locals living in remote areas.


515 Steering Committee aided VND 30 million to Salavan's special working team

Speaking at the ceremony, Phu Van Phim Ma Chanh, the Political Commander, head of Salavan's special working team extended sincere thanks to the party committee, authority, people and armed forces of Thua Thien Hue province for supporting Salavan province in the past time, particularly during Covid-19 pandemic. The leader of Salavan's special working team extended his gratitude to Vietnamese soldiers who made significant contribution to Lao's independence. He believed that searching and gathering martyrs' remains are the responsibility of Salavan's party committee, authority and people.

At this forum, the military headquarters of the two provinces signed an agreements on cooperating in performing military and national defense tasks. Particularly, the headquarters of the two provinces signed a twining agreement, showing the close-knit relation and solidarity of the military force of the two countries.

On this occasion, 515 Steering Committee offered VND 30 million to Salavan's special working team. Thua Thien Hue military headquarters presents 1 camera and 2 computers worth over VND 150 million to the military headquarters of Salavan province Colonel Hoang Van Nhan presents his personal gift to the military headquarter of Salavan province.
