Built under the reign of Emperor Tu Duc in 1865, Van Xa is one of the few village halls constructed in a large scope and highly appreciated in terms of architecture in Thua Thien Hue province.

The village hall is located in the area of 1.600m surrounded by wall. Entering Van Xa village hall, visitors will sequently observe the three-entrance gate, crescent lotus lake, front screen, memorial house, court yard and hall. The memorial house where information regarding to the construction and renovation of the village hall was carved is located at the middle of the village hall.

The main hall is a three-compartment house with two wings constructed in the area of 400m2. It consists of 54 pillars of different height ranging from 5,2m to 1,5m. Its rafter system is delicately carved, following Nguyen dynasty's featured architecture, i.e. "the four holy beasts" and "the two dragons flanking the moon". This place worships the 5 founders of Le, Tran, Cao families, mandarin Tran Mau Que (1688-1762) and Tran Hung Dat (1746-1810). The construction was renovated in 1961 and 1995.
