Martyr memorial stele at Dong Tranh (Bastogne) military base (Binh Tien commune, Huong Tra town) was recognized as a province-level historic relic on Decision No. 555/QD-UBND of the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee on March 15th, 2021.

During the resistance against America, a military base was built in Binh Dien and Hong Tien commune (Binh Tien commune today). It is the oponent's effort to stop Vietnamese soldiers from moving to delta and urban areas. America also established a military system including Birmingham military base and Dong Tranh (Bastogne) military base as well as controlled adjacent peaks.

Dong Tranh is an independent hill located about 4km away from Binh Dien commune and 66 peak; 1km away from 372 peak. National road 12B runs between two round-shaped hills (also known as Hat Gao hills) which are about 700m to the east of Dong Tranh hill. Divided by streams and rivers, Dong Tranh is an important place when it comes to military strategy.

In 1972, many soldiers including those from air defense battalion, regiment 241, division 367 (air defense brigade 241, corp 1) lost their lives at very young age. To commemorate and honor their heroic sacrifice, Huong Tra town's Youth Union constructed a memorial stele at Dong Tranh military base (Binh Tien commune) on July 26th, 2017..

This construction shows humanitarian value, the sincere gratitude and honor of the Party, authority and locals to beloved soldiers. It is the place where martyrs' families, organizations and locals visit and show their gratitude following Vietnamese tradition "Uong nuoc nho nguon, an qua nho nguoi trong cay" (drink water, remember its source) principle as well as educate today and tomorrow generations of revolutionary tradition.

Situated by 12B road (National Road 49), the relic consists of La thanh (surrounding wall), yard and stele house.
