“Khong gian cho em” playground opened in Hue Central Hospital

(TTH - Portals) - On May 3, 2024, “Khong gian cho em” playground was opened in Hue Central Hospital. This space is dedicated to pediatric patients who are undergoing radiation therapy at Radiation Therapy 2 Department, Oncology Center.

This project was sponsored by Ms. Kayuzo Watanabe, Head of Asian Children’s Care League (ACCL). For the past 20 years, Ms. Kayuzo Watanabe has wholeheartedly called for organizations and individuals to support pediatric patients who suffered from cancer and their families.

“Khong gian cho em” playground is considered as a humanitarian and practical project which makes pediatric patients happy, relieve stress and become less scared during hospitalization time.

The playground offers a wide variety kinds of creative games and open space.

Over VND 150 million was invested in the playground

At the opening ceremony, Professor, MD, Ph.D. Pham Nhu Hiep, the Director of Hue Central Hospital kindly informed that this playground means so much to these unfortunate pediatric patients as it helps improve both their mental and physical life. It is expected to bring patients relaxing time, relieve their stress and soon recover from their illness.

Pediatric radiation therapy, particularly anesthesia radiation therapy has been applied in Radiation Therapy department, Oncology Center, Hue Central Hospital since 2015. Over a decade, more than 90% of pediatric patients undergoing radiation therapy in Hue Central Hospital were from country-wide centers for pediatric cancer such as Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, Vietnam National Cancer Hospital, Children's Hospital 2, Ho Chi Minh city Oncology Hospital, Danang Hospital for Women and Children, etc.
