Vice Chairman Nguyen Dung receives VVA delegation

On February 13th, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dung chaired a meeting for a delegation from Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) led by Co-chairs of VVA International Commission of Prisoner of War and Missing in Action Grant T. Coares.

At the meeting, Mr. Grant T. Coares extended his sincere thank to provincial leader for the warm welcome. The representative of VVA delegation kindly informed VVA's activities in the past time; discussed information regarding to seeking the remains of martyrs who sacrificed in war; informed activities held to support invalids and Agent Orange victims. Mr. Grant T. Coares emphasized that achievements obtained in the past time contributed to strengthening the sustainable relation between VVA and Thua Thien Hue province.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Dung expressed his pleasure to welcome delegates to Thua Thien Hue province. Vice Chairman highly appreciated VVA's effort and support in solving the aftermath of the war, organizing humanitarian activities and supporting locals who are exposed to Agent Orange. Vice Chairman believed that the two sides need to further promote bilateral cooperation relation in various fields, especially economy, trade, investment, culture, social affairs, education and training, science, technology and climate change. 

In regards to solving the aftermath of the war, Vice Chairman hoped that VVA would continue to help Thua Thien Hue province to provide information regarding to soldiers who lost their life or were announced missing, help the province to seek and gather the remains of martyrs, care about aftermath recovery projects on bomb and explosives clearance, supporting victims of explosives and Agent Orange.
