On June 30th, the renovated headquarters of French Institute in Hue was inaugurated. Attending the ceremony were the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Vietnam - H.E. Mr. Nicolas Warnery, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Phan Ngoc Tho and the representatives of relevant departments and agencies.

The French Institute in Hue was renovated from February to June, 2020. During this time, the green space available in the front and on the first floor of the building was renovated. The multi-functional hall, classrooms and multi-media library were also upgraded. It is considered as an effort to better serve the public, maximize the space for events and cultural activities as well as create a more effective learning environment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho emphasized that French Institute in Hue is an important foundation for the long-term development of France - Thua Thien Hue relation in particular and France - Vietnam relation in general; a destination for anyone interested in French language and culture. The leader of Thua Thien Hue province hoped that the Institute would continue developing and strengthening France - Vietnam friendly relation.

Being a branch of the French Institute in Vietnam, the Institute is a destination for French language and culture lovers. It is also one of the proactive partners making contribution to cultural and language exchange activities of Hue city.

On June 30th night, the photo exhibition entitled "Public, private and secret" in which artworks of young photographers, namely Joseph Gobin (French) and Nguyen Phuong (Vietnam) were on display was kicked off by the French Institute in Hue.
