On May 16, 2024, Thua Thien Hue province’s 515 Steering Committee and the special working team of Salavan province (Laos) organized a ceremony to hand over the remains of voluntary soldiers and experts who lost their lives in Laos gathered in 2023-2024 dry season. Colonel Hoang Van Nhan - the Political Commissar of Thua Thien Hue Military Headquarters, the deputy head of 515 steering; Phu Van - Phim Ma Chan - Major General, the deputy head of Salavan special working team attended the ceremony.

In the friendly atmosphere, the two parties reviewed advantages, difficulties and the searching for the remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who lost their lives in Lao battlefield in 2023-2024 dry season. On behalf of 515 Steering Committee, Thua Thien Hue province, Colonel Hoang Van Nhan extended sincere thanks to the party committee, authority, people and armed forces, particularly Salavan special working team during searching, surveying and gathering the remains of martyrs in the past time. Despite difficulties faced in locating martyrs’ remains in remoted area, team 192 successfully completed tasks assigned thanks to the support of Lao citizens.  In 2023-2024 dry season, 12 sets of remains were gathered. There are 07 sets found in Salavan province.

In 2023-2024 dry season and coming years, Colonel Hoang Van Nhan wished the special working team of Salavan province would create favorable condition so that team 192 would find martyrs’ remains in Lao batter fields.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Phu Van Phim Ma Chan kindly informed that the authority and people of Salavan province were grateful of Vietnamese soldiers who made significant contribution to Lao's independence. Therefore, Salavan's party committee, authority and people should be responsible for searching and gathering martyrs' remains and create favorable condition for team 192 to complete its missions.

At the ceremony, the two parties signed the hand-over minutes. On this occasion, 515 Steering Committee offered VND 30 million to Salavan's special working team. Thua Thien Hue Military Headquarters presented 3 computers worth over VND 50 million to the Military Headquarters of Salavan province.
