Youths and locals join in the voluntary blood donation day called "Red Sunday"
On January 17th, the 13th "Chu nhat do" (Red Sunday), a blood donation day was co-organized by Thua Thien Hue Youth Union, Tien Phong Newspaper and Hue city's Blood Donation Board.

Themed "Hien mau cuu nguoi - Sinh menh cua ban va toi" (Donating blood to save people - Your Life and My Life), the event attracted 500 Youth Union members, youths and locals. On average, each donor donated from 250ml to 350ml of blood. In the past time, voluntary blood donation activities have been carried out across the province in various forms such as "Ngan hang mau song” (Blood bank), "Sinh nhat hong” (Red birthday) club, etc. In 2020 only, levels of Thua Thien Hue Youth Union organized 30 blood donation programs, attracting nearly 15.500 Youth Union members and youths, collecting 5.680 blood units.

"Red Sunday" is a voluntary blood donation program held by Tien Phong Newspaper, National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and other relevant units since 2009. It aims to widely spread voluntary blood donation and bring cadres, Youth Union members, youths and students opportunities to show their compassion towards the community.
