On September 9th, 2019, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province promulgated Decision No. 2186/QD-UBND on recognizing Phuoc Tich ancient village (Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province) as a tourism site.

Accordingly, the management unit of Phuoc Tich ancient village takes the responsibility for managing, exploiting, developing the tourism site as regulated in Tourism law and relevant legal documents.

Located about 40km to the south of Hue city, Phuoc Tich ancient village was founded in 1470 under Emperor Le Thanh Tong's reign. It is surrounded by O Lau river and borders with Quang Tri province. Phuoc Tich ancient village is highly assessed for its integrity and validity not only in Central region, but also across the country. Among 117 houses located in Phuoc Tich village, there are 27 traditional ruong houses (panel houses) and garden houses, 12 of which have special value in terms of technique and aesthetic. In addition, the village has adequate unique cultural value systems such as architecture of religious culture (temple, family pagoda, etc), natural landscape, etc. In particular, Vietnamese typical community living space and culture are still conserved and maintained in Phuoc Tich village.
