On January 11th, Hai Van Tunnel 2 was inaugurated by Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company - Deo Ca Group, Ministry of Transport, Thua Thien Hue province and Da Nang city.

After 3 years of construction, Hai Van tunnel 2 was completed with the total length of 6,2km. Considered as the longest tunnel in South East Asia, the construction was invested and implemented by Deo Ca Group, which was in charge of constructing tunnels in Co Ma pass, Ca pass and Cu Mong pass.

The fact that Hai Van tunnel 2 was completed as planned proved that domestic businesses were capable of mastering complex technologies and the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises. It is not only a good news for transport sector, but also a construction built to celebrate the 13th National Party Congress.

Hai Van Pass is an important part of National Road 1. Completed in 2005, Hai Van  tunnel 1 sponsored by Japan has made contribution to improving current traffic condition and shortening the trans-Vietnam journey. However, the increasing number of vehicles made it necessary to build Hai Van tunnel 2.
