On March 27, 2023, a high-level delegation from Attapeu province (Lao PDR) headed by the secretary cum governor Let Xayphaphon paid a visit to Thua Thien Hue province. The member of Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of provincial People's Council Le Truong Luu; the standing member of the provincial Party Committee, Vice Permanent Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Thanh Binh, leaders of relevant departments and agencies received the meeting.
At the meeting, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu extended his pleasure to welcome Attapeu’s delegation to Thua Thien Hue. At the same time, Secretary Le Truong Luu informed delegates about results achieved in local socio-economic development. The leader of Thua Thien Hue province stated that the special traditional friendship between the two provinces has been unceasingly strengthened. A reliable, effective and practical relation was established in all fields such as politics, diplomatic relation, national defense, security, culture, education and heathcare, etc.
So far, Thua Thien Hue has provided training support for 163 Lao students. Currently, there are 53 students studying at colleges and universities across the province. At the same time, Thua Thien Hue helped Attapeu with healthcare and sent delegations to strengthen bilateral relation.
In the coming time, the two parties will cooperate to complete the cooperation agreement in 2023-2027 period. The two parties are expected to exchange information and documents regarding to regional and international conditions which affected national security and defense. To ensure national security and social order, favorable conditions will be created so that competent agencies could collaborate and effectively implement the agreement to better protect the border areas, prevent cross-border crime and control drug-related crime.

At the meeting, Mr. Let Xaynhaphon, the secretary cum governor of Attapeu province extended his sincere thank to the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province for the warm welcome and support given to Attapeu in the past time. The representative of Attapeu province emphasized that the friendly relation between Lao PDR and Vietnam in general as well as Attapeu and Thua Thien Hue in particular has been established and strengthened.
The governor of Attapeu province believed that this visit would tighten the friendship and solidarity between the two provinces in all fields, particularly education, agriculture, trade, investment and tourism.
On this occasion, Mr. Let Xaynhaphon invited the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province, relevant departments and businesses to visit and learn more about the potential and strengths of Attapeu province.
