(TTH Portals) - On March 26, 2023, "Olympic day run for public health" and the 31st Provincial Traditional Marathon 2023 were held at Nghinh Luong Dinh by Culture and Sport Department of Thua Thien Hue province.

This year, the Olympic day run attracted 1.715 athletes from 28 armed force units, high schools, colleges, universities and institutions; 12 districts, towns, city, departments, agencies and clubs, etc.
The Olympic day run is an annual activity held across localities by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism to celebrate the establishment anniversary of sport and physical training sector and the date on which Uncle Ho wrote “The duc va suc khoe” (physical training and health) to call for the entire of people to practice physical training.
Olympic day run 2023 launched
After the launching ceremony, nearly 1.500 runners who from the authorities, institutions and armed forces across the province joined in 1.5km distance around the flag tower - noon gate.
Later on, the 31st Provincial Traditional Marathon 2023 was organized, attracting 12 districts, towns, city, departments, agencies and clubs province-wide. As scheduled, athletes competed in the distance of 6,2km and 4,2km. They ran along the Huong river and finished the game at Nghinh Luong Dinh yard.
In the end, Organizer presented the first prize in 6,2km distance to Nguyen Hoang Anh (Huong Long ward, Hue city) and Nguyen Thi Hang (Customs Department). For 4,2km distance, the highest prize went to Le Trong Phu and Hoang Thi My Kieu. Both of them are from Phu Vang district,
With regards to collective prizes, the first prize was given to Thua Thien Hue Public Security, Bui Thi Xuan High School and Hue College of Education. Among localities, Huong Thuy town led the list, followed by Phu Vang and Nam Dong district, respectively.
