On August 11th, 2022, the Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Van Phuong had a meeting with KRRI group about green transport project in Thua Thien Hue province. The representatives of relevant departments and agencies attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the representative of KRRI group briefly introduced its production, business and fields of operation. In addition, KRRI representative expects to carry out green transport project in Thua Thien Hue. In 6 months, KRRI will cooperate with SMC Company Limited Liability to report the feasibility of "tram (electric train)" and "electric bus". Based on this report, KRRI will later make further suggestions. Trams are supposed to help connect districts, towns and Hue city center via a modern and advanced transport model.
On this occasion, Post Media Company expected to study the feasibility of a Smart bike sharing scheme. It is expected to continue the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ)-sponsored pilot project. As planned, GIZ will conduct this public bike-sharing scheme in 6 months and sponsor Hue city 1.000 bicycles. After two months, the project received positive response from locals and visitors. There is a peak demand for public bicycle in the early morning and late afternoon, which far excesses the number of bicycle available.
The proposal for Thua Thien Hue electric train system
Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong highly appreciated ideas and determination of KRRI group and Post Media Limited Liability Company. Chairman agreed with the suggestion for developing green public transport system. The leader of Thua Thien Hue province kindly requested relevant departments and agencies to instruct companies relevant procedures during researching these projects.
Chairman emphasized that green public transport infrastructure is one of the important fields to be prioritized by the province in the coming time to conserve heritage city and develop a green clean city. In addition, the Chairman believed that public bicycle is a perfect choice to connect public transport system, an ideal vehicle for green transport and the sustainable development of a clean tourist, a festival city.
