Princess Huyen Tran was known as a caring person who loved her parents and citizens. Obeying her elder brother - Emperor Tran Anh Tong, the princess got married to the king of Champa kingdom to establish a bilateral harmonious relation and expand the national border to the south in early 14th century. Ever since, Chau O and Chau Ly were given to Hue as wedding present. To pay tribute and acknowledge princess Huyen Tran’s merits, locals honored and constructed a shrine to worship princess Huyen Tran.
