At the workshop
On November 25th, Vietnam - South Korea smart digital city investment workshop was co-held by the Consulate General of South Korea in Da Nang city and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). The standing member of the provincial Party Committee, Vice Permanent Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Thanh Binh, the leaders of Construction Department, Foreign Affairs Department, Information and Communications Department, Investment and Planning Department, the Management Board for Economic and Industrial Zones attended the workshop.

The event was aimed to eye cooperation opportunities, broaden knowledge of smart city and infrastructure, bring basic changes to the economy and society of the two countries. It was also an occasion for the two countries to strengthen the diplomatic relation in the past 30 years as well as strive for their development in the next 30 years.

At the workshop, experts, delegates exchanged Vietnam - South Korea cooperative opportunities in ICT - digital technology including Vietnam - South Korea investment cooperation in ICT industry. Delegates reviewed the situation and cooperative strategy of South Korean ICT business investing in Vietnam, Vietnam ICT development policies, South Korean ICT business’s strategy for business growth as well as cooperation with Vietnamese ICT business.

On behalf of Thua Thien Hue province’s delegation, the vice Director of Construction Department Huynh Minh Khang had a presentation about Vietnam - South Korea cooperation in green environment: environmentally friendly infrastructure.

 Accordingly, Thua Thien Hue has gained positive achievements from South Korean ODA projects such as the modification of Hue City's master plan 2030 and vision 2050, the detailed planning of the Huong riversides, the project connecting the walking street on the Southern bank of the Huong River, building Hue City of culture and smart tourism.  South Korean cooperative projects have made important contribution to the stable and sustainable development of local tourism, culture and heritage on the basis of tourism infrastructure. They have also helped exploit and advertise tourism and cultural resources of Hue city and Thua Thien Hue province.  

After the workshop, the leaders of Investment and Planning Department, Information and Communications Department exchanged with South Korean partners about digital transformation and smart city.
