On December 7, 2022, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province issued Decision No. 2954/QD-UBND on recognizing Deng weaving in A Roang commune, A Luoi district as a province’s traditional craft.

Deng weaving is a unique traditional craft of Ta Oi, Pa Ko and Van Kieu people in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province. Each product is not only used daily, but also considered as an artwork showing the unique features of national culture. Over hundreds years, locals has maintained, passed down Deng weaving craft and created colorful Deng products with unique patterns. Decorative patterns, Deng weaving and bead-adding technique of Ta Oi ethnic minority group were recognized as national intangible cultural heritage and is now known globe-wide. The fact that Deng weaving was recognized as a province-level traditional craft made contribution to cultural conservation, ensuring politic, national defense and security in border area.
