The Lai Thuong village hall and shrine were constructed in The Lai - an ancient village of Thuan Hoa which was founded about 500 years ago. The Lai was then divided into The Lai Thuong and The Lai Ha village. Currently, The Lai Thuong is situated in Phu Hiep ward (Gia Hoi ward today), Hue city.
The village hall faces the south-west direction. In front of the hall locates the Dong Ba river. This 1.200 structure is surrounded by wall.
About 5m away from the three-entrance gate, visitors could see a couple of crane sculpture standing on turtles. Next comes the court yard. The village hall is a three-compartment house with two wings. It is decorated with the four holy beasts, typical flowers of the four seasons and the eight treasures. These patterns framed in boxes. Its interior is divided into two parts "Hau cung" and "Tien duong" (also called "Bai duong").
At The Lai Thuong shrine, there is a three-entrance gate. The Lai Thuong shrine is a three-compartment house with 36 wooden pillars. Decorative patterns mainly used are the four holy beasts, tiger and typical flowers of the four seasons.
The value of The Lai Thuong village hall and shrine were recognized in history, architecture, arts, culture and society. This group of relic was recognized as national relic on decision 05/1999QD-BVHTT dated January 12th, 1999 of the Ministry of Culture and Information (Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism today).
