On the 55th death anniversary of General Nguyen Chi Thanh (July 6th, 1967 - July 6th, 2022), the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Van Phuong signed decision no.1325/QD-UBND dated June 2nd 2022 on licensing the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum (144 Dang Thai Than street, Thuan Hoa ward, Hue city) to operate.
In addition to the exhibition house located at Niem Pho hamlet (Quang Tho commune, Quang Dien district), Thua Thien Hue established General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum. This non-public museum help diversify local cultural life.
Accordingly, General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum is a non-public facility managed by Thua Thien Hue Culture and Sport Department and the locality where the museum is run. The museum operated pursuant to Circular no. 18/2010/TT-BVHTTDL of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry regarding to the operation of museums and other relevant regulations.
In last March, Thua Thien Hue History Museum handed over 32 artifacts collected and restored by the museum such as books, newspaper, rudimentary weapons and the rice pot once used by revolutionary comrades, etc. These artifacts reflected the heroic revolutionary tradition of the party committee, soldiers and people of Thua Thien Hue province under the leadership of comrade Nguyen Vinh (General Nguyen Chi Thanh) during struggling against French colonists.
The Museum, Culture and Sport Department and scientists researched, collected documents, photos and artifacts related to the life and career of the General, then decided how things should be exhibited at the museum. Artifacts are exhibited under the following seven themes homeland, family and youth (1934-1937); the young secretary and the general uprising in Thua Thien Hue province (1937-1945); the soul of Binh Tri Thien battlefield (1946-1950); the Party Committee, the soul of socialist republic building in the north (1950-1960); the General doing agriculture (1961-1964); the desire for a unified Vietnam (1964-1967); heritages of General Nguyen Chi Thanh awarded by the Party Committee, State and military including 20 medals of all types (golden star medal and Ho Chi Minh medal).
