To make traditional "banh tet" and "banh chung", sticky rice and mung bean should be carefully selected. Therefore, "Banh tet" and "banh chung" made in No market (Phu Duong commune) always impress diners with its beautiful shape and the fragrant grain planted by locals, themselves. The other materials like banana leaves, bamboo strings and mung bean are all available in the village.
"Banh tet" in No market (Phu Duong commune) has appeared in far and near localities. Although this craft still fails to bring locals high income, it maintains traditional culture and creates jobs for farmers in their leisure time, and, therefore has been passed down from generations to generations.
“Banh tet” and “banh chung” making in Phu Duong commune was recognized as a traditional craft of Thua Thien Hue province on decision 1916/QD-UBND dated August 10th, 2022.
