Under the theme “Huong xua lang co - Buoc chan hanh phuc” (old scent of the ancient village - happy steps), the event attracted more than 1.000 athletes from localities country wide such as Ho Chi Minh city, Quang Ngai province, Quang Nam province, Da Nang city, Quang Tri province, Quang Binh province, Quang Dien district, Phu Vang district, Huong Tra town, Phu Loc district and Hue city. Runners competed in 5km, 10km and 21km distances. Only athletes who are more than 10 years old are able to join in 5km and 10km distances while those who are over 16 are allowed to enter 21km distance. While running around Phuoc Tich village located by the O Lau river and Phong Hoa commune, runners will get exciting experience, enjoy nature, admire the architecture of wooden panel houses, pottery-making craft, cultural relics, historical relics and local dishes made by Phuoc Tich villagers.
At the end of the race, the People’s Committe of Phong Dien district presents 6 first prizes, 6 second prizes and 6 third prizes. In addition, the organizer awarded prizes to the oldest female and male athletes and other prizes.
The 3rd Phong Dien Half Marathon 2024 is expected to introduce Phong Dien district, its people and culture. Through the race, destinations, tourism products and cultural values of Phong Dien district are introduced to far and near visitors. Besides, it was an occasion for officers, students and employees across the country to meet and exchange.
