The 4.237m2 school was established in accordance with the Decree of Emperor Thanh Thai in 1896. Entering Quoc Hoc Hue Gifted High School, visitors will recognize Vietnamese traditional three-entrance gate and deep red surrounding wall. This harmonious combination brings Quoc Hoc Hue Gifted High School a distinctive beauty. There is a dragon horse screen constructed in front of the school. To commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, a gypsum statue of Nguyen Tat Thanh (the name of President Ho Chi Minh in his early days) was placed at the middle of the school yard in September 1989. Later, the artwork was coated with bronze. The well-known saying of scholar Than Nhan Trung "Hien tai la nguyen khi cua quoc gia" (Virtuous and talented men are the primordial vitality of a State) reminding students of national studious tradition is located in the school center.
