Even those who have already lived in Hue for years may never arrive the brandnew destination recently discovered by young travel-lovers. Although Khe Ngang lake is away from city center, its peace and romantic beauty still attract a large number of young visitors.

Located in Huong Tra town, Thua Thien Hue province, Khe Ngang lake is a reservoir where locals raise fishes in cages. It is surrounded by forest and stretch of meadows. Travel lovers coming to Hue find this place the “chilling” destination that they have been searching for ages.

Without navigation instrument, it is quite hard to find the way to the lake. As Khe Ngang lake is located on the road leading to Huyen Khong Son Thuong, visitors will come across Kim Long ward before reaching the destination. To avoid getting lost, visitors are recommended to go straight ahead, cross the bypass and take the narrow bumpy roads. 

On their way, visitors will be impressed by surrounding scenery. Corn and sugarcane fields grown thickly in the area. The nearer visitor get, the more green paddy fields they can see. These let them blend into rural life. Do not ignore the blue road sign leading to Khe Ngang lake.

Each season, the lake has its distinctive beauty. Particularly, green trees and favorable weather condition in late winter and early spring make the place a version of Da Lat in Hue city. Located pretty far from city center, Khe Ngang lake still keeps its peace and nature. The dyke looks majestic under the sky. What’s special in Khe Ngang lake is open spaces where visitors can take photo, go camping or even prepare their grilled dishes.

Khe Ngang lake is not so popular with foreigners but youngsters and locals who are familiar to this area. When the sun sets, children living in the neighborhood ride bicycle, enjoy snacks and happy moments with their parents. Visitors may choose to walk along the road, enjoy the scenery or find the way to the forest. Photographers found “Khe Ngang lake” an amazing location for photo-taking, therefore, it was crowded in dry season. It is also a one-of-a-kind place for camping where picnickers find themselves surrounded by large lake the following morning. Nowadays, Hue’s brand-new destinations attract youngsters far and nears. Wandering across streets in Hue city, visitors can still get a unique experience.
