High-level delegation from Champasak province (Lao People’s Democratic Republic) visits Thua Thien Hue province
  
(TTH Portals) - On September 26, 2024, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Pham Duc Tien had a meeting with the high-level delegation from Champasak province (Lao People’s Democratic Republic) led by Mr. Alounxai Sounnalath, the member of Central Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary, the governor of Champasak province. The Standing member of the Party Committee, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Thanh Binh; leaders of relevant departments and agencies attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the Permanent Deputy Secretary Pham Duc Tien affirmed that Thua Thien Hue is in its turning point. The Party Committee, government, soldier and people of Thua Thien Hue province make effort to overcome difficulties, create new opportunity, together develop Thua Thien Hue into a centrally governed city which rapidly and sustainably develops on the basis of conserving and promoting heritage of the ancient capital and Hue cultural identity with culture, heritage, ecology, scenery, environmental friendliness and intelligent operation.

Permanent Deputy Secretary Pham Duc Tien highly appreciated the fact that high-level delegations have been exchanged by the two sides. The provincial leader believed that this important diplomatic - political activity tightens traditional friendly cooperation, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two provinces. At the same time, it makes important contribution to strengthening the politic foundation in Vietnam - Laos relation.

The Permanent Deputy Secretary informed the delegation of results achieved in socio-economic sector, Party construction, authority development as well as cooperative results between the two localities in the past time. According to Secretary Le Truong Luu, the two provinces need to strengthen bilateral friendly cooperative relation on the basis of the cooperation agreement in 2022-2026 period, particularly on education, training, health, commerce and tourism.

The leader of Thua Thien Hue province hoped that Champasak would create favorable condition for local citizens to live and work in the province on the basis of law of the two countries; support businesses to join in trade and tourism promotion activities held in Thua Thien Hue and Champasak province to accelerate trade exchange and tourism between localities to the south east of Thailand and Thua Thien Hue;  introduce Lao businesses to Chan May sea port to transport goods to the third country.

Secretary Le Truong Luu expected that bilateral special friendly relation would be further tightened, contributing to strengthening sustainable Vietnam – Laos’ special relation.

Speaking at the meeting, the Secretary cum governor of Champasak province - Mr. Alounxai Sounnalath extended his gratitude to the leaders of province, departments and agencies for the warm welcome and support given in the past time. The representative of Champasak province emphasized the importance of this business trip in bilateral friendly cooperation. The two sides have maintained friendly relation by providing timely support to each other during facing natural disasters and pandemic.

Mr. Alounxai Sounnalath kindly provided information regarding to Champasak’s socio-economic development in the past time. On this basis, the leader of Champasak hoped that the two provinces would exchange, learn experience, connect localities in east-west economic corridor; connect goods exchange between border gates, sea gates to export goods to regions around the world. The secretary cum governor of Champasak province made suggestions regarding to experience exchange, cooperation in staff training, national defense, culture cooperation, education, training, health care, tourism development and cultural heritage conservation.

The representative of Champasak province believed that these actions play important role in local socio-economic development, international integration as well as further strengthening Vietnam - Laos special solidarity. The Secretary cum governor of Champasak province Alounxai Sounnalath hoped that the bilateral traditional relation would be further developed in an effective and practical way. Champasak province’s representative wished Vietnam - Laos cooperative relation would be sustainable forever.
