Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh receives the Ambassador of New Zealand in Vietnam

(TTH Portals) - On July 18, 2024, the standing member of the provincial Party Committee, Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh had a courtesy meeting with Ms. Caroline Beresford, the Ambassador of New Zealand in Vietnam.

Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed his pleasure to welcome the Ambassador of New Zealand in Vietnam to Thua Thien Hue province. The provincial leader briefly introduced local socio-economic development, achievements obtained in the past time and the plan to develop Thua Thien Hue into a centrally managed city. Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh wished the relation between Vietnam and New Zealand in general and that between Thua Thien Hue and New Zealand in particular would be further promoted

According to the provincial leader, Thua Thien Hue would like to expand the bilateral friendship and cooperative relation in various fields. Vice Chairman hoped that the ambassador would concern and promote investment, trade and tourism cooperation between Thua Thien Hue and New Zealand partners; encourage investment in fields that both parties are interested in such as infrastructure, textile, high-tech agriculture and renewable energy; introduce local potentials and strengths to New Zealand investors; create favorable condition to exchange students and lecturers.

At the meeting, Ms. Caroline Beresford extended her sincere thank to the leaders of the province, departments and agencies for the warm welcome on her first business trip to Thua Thien Hue province. The Ambassador of New Zealand in Vietnam was impressed by the beauty of Hue ancient city, the green tourism city, friendly hospitable residents, the development associated with conserving cultural and historical values and coming development orientation.

Ms. Caroline Beresford hoped that the two sides would strengthen cooperative relation in Thua Thien Hue’s strong fields, particularly sustainable tourism development. The Ambassador kindly informed that New Zealand universities would cooperate, exchange and carry out research with universities in Hue city.

Vietnam-New Zealand diplomatic will mark the 50th anniversary in 2025. Therefore, eventful activities will be held in Hue. On this basis, the long-lasting friendship, cooperation between New Zealand and Vietnam in general as well as Thua Thien Hue in particular will be improved.
