Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that the province has determined to make breakthroughs, accelerate socio-economic development, successfully develop Thua Thien Hue into a centrally governed city in accordance with Resolution No. 54-NQ-TW of the Politburo. Thua Thien Hue has accelerated and comprehensively adopted measures to achieve considerable results in all fields, completed socio-economic objectives with the result better than expected, invested in infrastructure and made comprehensive changes. In terms of culture and society, positive changes have been observed such as improved material and mental life, ensured social order and security, stable environment, accelerated economic, cultural and tourism development.
These achievements prove the joining hand of the community, organizations, teams and individuals in all fields. These are the results of creativity, overcoming obstacles and making unceasing effort of locals, particularly the ten honorary citizens and those given State awards, said Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong.
Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that “honorary citizen” are those having excellent achievements in working, learning and social activities. Moreover, they have always lived and worked in a responsible manner for themselves, their families and the community. They are willing to overcome challenges and benefit the society. Their good deeds spread to life, community and create a Hue in the mind of every Vietnamese.

According to Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong, this is the third time that Thua Thien Hue selected and honored “honorary citizen” title. It not only marks efforts and excellent achievements made by individuals, but also encourages them to devote to life and future. In addition, there are teams and individuals who were given awards from the President, Government, Prime Minister for their efforts and contribution to national development. The acknowledgement from the province and State is expected to motivate teams and individual so that they could make further effort, create products, take action for a prosperious and sustainable province.
Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong express best wishes to teams and individuals. With strong determination, Chairman believed that everyone will join hand to overcome obstacles, promote creativity and strive to turn Thua Thien Hue into a centrally governed city.
The ten individuals given “honorary citizen” titles are people’s doctor, teacher, lecturers, student, those working in security and fire prevention, sport, Hue royal arts, organizations, etc. They have made important and practical contribution to the development of the province.
On this occasion, the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province announced decisions signed by the President, Prime Minister on giving State-level awards. Accordingly, the labor medal class 2 was presented to doctor Truong Nhu Son, the Director of Phu Vang district’s Health Center, the Health Department of Thua Thien Hue province. Prime Minister’s certificate of merit was given to 1 team and 8 individuals while government’s emulation flag was given to 8 teams for their excellent working achievements.
