Bestowing "School honorary student" title is a meaningful activity which has been held by Thua Thien Hue province for 5 years to mark and honor students with excellent achievements, create a regular studying emulation at schools, acknowledge the concerns of teaching staff, families and the entire society.

In the past time, Thua Thien Hue is one of the ten leading localities in national excellent student contest. Seventy-four out of ninety-three students win prizes, accounting for 79,6%. This figure is much higher than the average percentage country wide, 55,79%. Among 7 students entering the international round, one student won sliver medal on the 35th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2024).  One student entered the last round of the 24th Road to Olympia, marking two years in a row that Thua Thien Hue’s candidate attended the final round of the program. So far, there have been 7 students entering the final round. Of 384 excellent students, many of them had excellent studying result and been given these above mentioned prizes. Particularly, many students from disadvantaged background have overcome hardships and obtained excellent achievements in both studying and training thanks to their efforts and determination.

It is a special award bestowed to excellent students by Chairman of the People’s Committee to acknowledge studiousness, honor local education and efforts made by the staff working in education and training sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized that today achievement is an initial success. Students will practice and study in further to become obedient children and good students; master knowledge and science; confidently enter the world as a global citizen as written by State President on his letter on the occasion of the new school year 2024-2025.

The leader of Thua Thien Hue province would concern and accompany local education; adopt measures to reaffirm the position of education, maintain its reputation as the high-quality center for education and training in the region and across the country. Vice Chairman expected departments, agencies and locals to join hand with school and teachers to encourage students to study; accompany, listen and create every favorable condition for them to nurture their dream, create a motivation for Thua Thien Hue to become a centrally governed city in accordance with Resolution 54 of the Politburo and Directive No. 42-CT/TU of the Party Committee.
