KEAA was established to promote cooperation among residents, businesses, government and educational organizations for a sustainable society which is carbon free, recycling-oriented and naturally harmonious. The Association carries out survey and researches on environment, raises public awareness through environment-related information, provides lessons on environment; develops human resource, cooperates and supports international organizations to enhance the awareness of managing and operating environmental protection activities.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue city Vo Le Nhat kindly informed that Japanese partners, particularly Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Hue city would cooperate in long term, particularly on disaster management, urban development, etc such as water environment improvement project. JICA highly appreciated the fact that Hue city has implemented the project as scheduled.

Mr. Tatsuro Niikawa, the Chairman of Kyoto Environmental Activities Association expected to establish an Eco-Center in Hue Children House, enhance the capacity of Hue Children House’s staff in operating center activities, build a volunteer system, organize events related to environment, develop a system of books and environment education programs at primary schools, develop model primary schools in Hue city, educate grass-root-level units to continue to carry out and expand environmental protection activities across Hue city.

“Hue city has special concern on environment. In the past time, Hue has carried out many activities and projects to develop a green - clean - bright city and deserve its title as a national green city. Therefore, Hue city highly appreciated ideas and suggestions made by Kyoto Environmental Activities Association (Japan). The city will cooperate with KEAA as well as competent bodies to have further study in the coming time, Chairman Vo Le Nhat emphasized.
